Commenced with a base herd of Angus and Black Baldies and are crossing them with Brangus Bulls. This progeny will be our replacement heifers which will be joined to composite bulls. Like many other breeders we are pursuing traits of fertility, mothering ability and good performance in poor conditions.

Herd overview
Breeding program commenced in 2004. Today there are 80 cows involved in two joining groups above.

Joinings are single sired. Calving in spring. Not a member of breedplan. Commercial Member of Droughtmaster and Red Angus breed societies.

Our aim is to produce a quick maturing growthy cattle, suited to tropical environment, which are well conformed and quiet to handle. Females also must calve unassisted every year and be able to support a growing calf and re-breed. Target weaners is 400kg liveweight.

Further Details:

We are aiming for a self replacing herd to produce yearlings or young cattle to suit the heavy domestic or E.U. market. Saleability of cull and cfa females is important. Also important is the ability of the breeding unit to produce in poor seasons as well as good. Heifers are joined at 14 to 15 months of age, and are expected to rejoin within a 10-12 week joining period.
