About Composite Beef Breeders Australia


In 2000 a group of progressive composite cattle breeders together with NSW Agriculture and Queensland Department of Primary Industry initiated the formation of the Composite Beef Breeders Australia Association – CBBA.

The Beef Improvement Association of Australia quickly adopted it as a branch with no geographical location, and membership has now spread to many parts of Australia.



The aims of the CBBA are to:

Promote awareness and understanding of composite breeding
Provide speedy access to current information
Facilitate contact between buyers and sellers.

The purpose of this CBBA web site is to support you, whether you are:
Starting with composite cattle production
An experienced composite producer

The Goal:
To improve profitability, with composite cattle production

You can:
Find out how to design your own composite breeding program,
Contact people with specialist skills to assist you,
Search for producers who can supply you with breeding or feeder stock,
Contact buyers who will benefit from purchasing your cattle
Keep in touch with leading edge developments in composite breeding
Contact specialist composite breeder networks/groups

This CBBA web site features:
A Member Search Facility – Choose your search criteria by location; breed   mix; etc. then link to further details and home pages.
An Animal Search Facility – Find by location; breed mix; for sale etc. then find   further details on sale lots.
A Technical Section – Find information prepared by technical and producer   specialists about composite cattle. This section is edited by NSW Agriculture   and QDPI.
A Calendar of Events – Find out when and where field days/seminars/sales   etc. are to be held. You can include your event by contacting    events@compositebeef.com.au
A Chat Room – Have your composite beef production questions answered by   visiting speakers, technical specialist and experienced cattlemen
An Interactive E-mail Group – A Members Only E-mail system to keep you   automatically informed of current initiatives, developments and events about   composite cattle production.

Composite Cattle Breeders Australia is a branch of the Beef Improvement Association – BIA. The BIA provides financial, insurance and incorporation support for the CBBA. If you are an existing member of a regional BIA branch, joining the CBBA is equivalent to joining an additional specialist branch.**
